On
Wednesday February 5th, 2003 Stan “the man” Bowen was able to live out
a dream that many parrotheads across the nation have had. Stan played
on stage with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band at the Carolina Center
in Columbia, SC. With his world famous maracas in hand, Stan took
to the stage and brought the house down as he and the band played Margaritaville.
Anyone who knows him can testify to the fact that Stan is indeed “a trip
all by himself”. I have met many interesting people over the years
in my parrothead travels. But, none more colorful and engaging than
Stan. I couldn’t help but to write this song. “Shake, shake,
shake, dance, dance, dance” Stan.
